Event Details

The annual Chocolate Auction features hundreds of chocolate delicacies, including cookies, pies, tortes and cream puffs, and also features many pieces of original art by area and regional artists. Bidders can begin with the silent auction and then bid in the live auction that follows. This event draws people from as far as Kansas City and Topeka. The auction began in 1987 with the Baldwin Community Arts Council which has now merged with the Lumberyard Arts Center. The Chocolate Auction tradition carries on and is now the major fundraiser for the Arts Center.

The Baldwin Community Arts Council (BCAC) has traditionally supported educational programs for the school system (K-12), provided scholarships for local students; sponsored lecturers, artists and plays; provided summer band concerts, children's summer art workshops and supported and participated in the Baldwin Art Walk for community artists.
